Manushi Chhillar from India was crowned Miss World 2017 at the 67th edition of Miss World 2017 pageant held on 18 November 2017 in Sanya City Arenam, China. She is the 6th Indian to win the coveted crown. India last won the crown in 2000, when Priyanka Chopra was crowned by Miss World 1999 Yukta Mookhey.

Manushi succeeds Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico. At the same event, Stephanie Hill from England was adjudged first runner up and Andrea Meza from Mexico was adjudged second runner up. The grand finale of the most prestigious pageant was hosted by former Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

Manushi is a complete package of beauty with brains. After bagging the fbb Femina Miss India 2017 title earlier this year, she utilized her fame for a noble cause, and started an initiative to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene. The gorgeous 20-year old has also won the Head to Head Challenge and the Beauty with a Purpose titles, earlier this evening.

She impressed the judges throughout, but her answer in the final round was the icing on the cake. When she was asked which profession in the world deserved the highest salary and why, she said, "Since I am very close to my mother, I believe a mother deserves the highest respect. When you talk about salary, I don't think it's just about cash, but it's the love and respect you give to someone. I think my mom has always been my biggest inspiration; mothers sacrifice so much for their kids. It is certainly that one profession which deserves the highest salary, the highest respect and love."Her family members, who were in the audience, couldn't hold back their excitement when she was announced the winner.
